Post-doctoral Research Fellow
A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Department of Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), Nashville, TN. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Robb Flynn to identify core regulatory circuitries mediating nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The successful applicant will integrate bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, single-nuclei RNA-seq, CHIP-seq and other high-dimensional datasets from humans and animal model together with data from cultured liver and GI organoid models to characterize immune/ hepatic cell phenotypes and bile acid signaling that may be mediating.
Suitable applications should have a recent PhD degree in molecular biology, cellular biology, nucleic acid biology or genomics. Candidates with a multidisciplinary background spanning life sciences and quantitative sciences are especially encouraged to apply. Working ability to analyze NGS data, experience in the analysis and/or manipulation of large datasets. Interest and willingness to generate and characterize small animal models using CRISPR.
