This RNAseq Data analysis workshop is designed for those looking to implement differential expression analysis of short-read (Illumina) data in their work. We use a combination of command-line tools and R packages to perform; data preprocessing and quality control (FastQC, cutadapt), mapping to a reference genome (STAR, SAMtools), visualisation of mapped reads (SAMtools, IGV), estimating gene count (featureCounts)
Differential expression analysis (R, RStudio, edgeR, rtracklayer, ggplot2, pheatmap), and functional analysis (GSEABase).
To get the most out of the course, participants should have a basic understanding of command-line computing and coding in R, along with a basic knowledge of molecular biology.
