Positions for Postdoc/Research Staff/PhD student interested in single-cell transcriptomics at the Stony Brook University

We are using single cell or nuclei RNA-seq approaches to study the pathogenic processes in the central nervous systems (CNS). Suitable candidates are welcome to join this exciting project, as Postdocs, Research Staff or PhD students. We use an in-lab 10X genomics system, and are experienced in scRNA/snRNA-seq and data analysis. Candidates are expected to be enthusiastic about the research and have strong backgrounds in molecular biology/genetics and at least one of the following areas: bioinformatics, computer science, or programming. Previous experience in RNA-seq is a plus but not required.  This project is a component of an NIH-funded research program that uses interdisciplinary approaches of molecular, cellular and systems analyses on the CNS, including mouse genetics, imaging, single cell analysis, electrophysiology and behavioral analysis. Successful candidates will have chances to gain experiences in these areas, in addition to scRNA/snRNA-seq analysis. Stony Brook University (a.k.a. The State University of New York At Stony Brook) is a beautiful campus on Long Island, about one hour from New YorK city by trains or driving. There are many nature preserve parks and beaches nearby the campus.

Interested candidates are encouraged to send their CVs to Dr. Shao-Jun Tang via email: shao.tang@stonybrookmedicine.edu
