Job Description:
A postdoctoral position is available at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (Oakland, CA) on an ongoing NIH-funded project to examine disease pathways in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The successful candidate is expected to take a lead role in bioinformatics and statistical analyses of RNA-seq data (coding and long non-coding RNAs) from multiple data points before, during and after pregnancy to assess how changes in gene expression could be influencing the disease, and to understand why RA improves naturally during pregnancy.
Job Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics or similar field, and must be proficient in scripting programming languages such as R and Python. Prior experience in analyses of RNA-seq data and/or other omics data is a plus.
