Eclipsebio is an industry-leading RNA technology company at the forefront of innovation in RNA-based therapeutic development. By leveraging next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, Eclipsebio develops precise tools for the characterization and optimization of RNA-based therapeutic, enabling a deeper understanding of RNA function and therapeutic potential. With a commitment to innovation and quality, Eclipsebio continues to shape the future of RNA research and medicine.

As a member of the Eclipsebio R&D team, the Scientist I will work alongside other team members to develop new NGS-based protocols for RNA characterization. The successful candidate is expected to have a good understanding of RNA biology and chemistry, as well as hands-on experience with handling RNA and preparing libraries for NGS. As a Scientist I the candidate is also expected to be able to think critically about new protocol development, and independently plan experiments to troubleshoot results.

Job Description:

  • Independently plan and execute RNA/NGS library prep experiments with manager supervision, utilizing standard biochemical and molecular techniques
  • Independently drive the progression of protocol development and optimization
  • Efficiently track, save and communicate development progress in an organized manner
  • Search for and read papers to follow relevant innovation and to overcome hurdles within own R&D
  • Maintain and harvest human tissue culture samples as needed (<5% of job)
  • Process customer samples using established Eclipsebio protocols as needed
  • Process internal samples using established Eclipsebio protocols for marketing purposes as needed
  • General lab tasks including ordering, organizing, and instrument maintenance

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have hands-on experience with standard biochemistry and molecular biology procedures, with a particular emphasis on strong RNA isolation and handling experience, as well as RNA library preparation for NGS, western analysis, qPCR, tissue culture and transfection, and gel electrophoresis
  • PhD in Molecular / Cell Biology or related discipline with 0–3-year experience in industry OR MsC in Molecular / Cell Biology or related discipline with 3-6-year experience in industry (SRA level position)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail, proficient reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis, statistical methods and experimental interpretation, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Hands-on experience with high-throughput sequencing, RNA library preparation
  • Experience with life science tools and reagents, protocol or assay development
