We are hiring two postdocs in genomics on hormone dependent cancer (prostate and ovarian cancers) – at the Department of Molecular Oncology, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital-Radiumhospitalet.
Please apply for the position here, by the deadline of 29 July. The two positions are full-time for two-years, with the possibility of extension.
The candidates will be a part of the Genome Biology Group, and the projects involve use of genome technologies to improve cancer diagnostics and treatment. A postoctoral fellow will be hired within each of two projects, focusing on prostate and ovarian cancer. Both candidates with expertise in molecular genetics/genomics wet-lab and bioinformatics are encouraged to apply. The working place will be within a interdisciplinary research lab, where coworkers have background across the disciplines of biology, informatics, and medicine. The projects will be executed in close collaboration with clinical scientists as well as other research groups at the Institute (Lothe and Tasken).
Working tasks
The work will involve analyses of DNA and RNA from multiple cancer samples per patient. This will in particular be large-scale analyses such as high-throughput sequencing of DNA and RNA. This will also involve processing of biobank material and database work. The candidate will contribute to all phases of the project, including planning, implementation, discussion of results, and in communicating the results (orally and in writing).
Qualifications
Only candidates with a PhD/doctoral degree will be considered. We are particularly seeking candidates with expertise in cancer genomics. It will also be an advantage with experience in research on patient samples and/or data material from human biobanks. Further, it will be an advantage with experience from multi-omics bioinformatics and/or from molecular biological wet-lab analyses of DNA and RNA, including design and implementation of protocols for deep sequencing of tumor-DNA from tissue and plasma.
