Gladstone Data Sience Training Program
Neerja Katiyar, Bioinformatics Core
Wednesday, May 30, 2018 – 2:00pm to 4:30pm
Room 107C/D
RNA-seq has become an ubiquitous tool in both biological and medical research. This workshop will provide a general introduction to RNA-seq analysis. Topics include data generation, quality control, and basic analysis of RNA-seq data. Participants will explore software and workflow and gain hands-on experience analyzing sample dataset using R.
By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:
- Understand the basic workflow for RNA-seq analysis
- Become familiar with quality control for RNA-seq data
- Perform read counting and differential expression analysis using R
This workshop is intended for a Gladstone audience that has no previous experience with RNA-seq analysis. Participants are required to bring a laptop with R and RStudio installed.
The Gladstone Data Science Training Program was started in 2018 to provide trainees with learning opportunities and hands-on workshops to improve their skills in bioinformatics and computational analysis. This program offers a series of workshops through the year to enable trainees to gain new skills and get support with their questions and data.
